1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the use of WhatsApp Banking services provided by The Peoples' Urban Co-operative Bank Ltd ("the Bank"). By using the WhatsApp Banking services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Definitions

  • "User": Any customer of the Bank who uses the WhatsApp Banking services.
  • "Service": WhatsApp Banking services offered by the Bank, including account information, transaction alerts, and other banking services through WhatsApp.
  • "WhatsApp": The messaging platform provided by WhatsApp Inc.

3. Eligibility

To use the WhatsApp Banking services, you must:

  • Be a registered customer of the Bank
  • Have a valid account with the Bank.
  • Have a mobile number registered with the Bank.
  • Have the WhatsApp application installed on your mobile device.

4. Registration and Activation

  • Users must register for the WhatsApp Banking services by following the Bank's prescribed registration process.
  • By registering for the Service, you authorize the Bank to send messages, alerts, and information to your registered mobile number via WhatsApp.

5. Services Offered

The Bank may provide the following services through WhatsApp:

  • Account balance inquiry
  • Mini statement request
  • Product information
  • Customer service support
  • Any other services as the Bank may introduce from time to time

6. Security

  • The Bank will take all reasonable measures to ensure the security of the Service.
  • Users must ensure the confidentiality of their account information and any OTP (One Time Password) received via WhatsApp.
  • The Bank will never ask for sensitive information such as passwords, PINs, or OTPs via WhatsApp. Users must report any such requests immediately to the Bank.

7. User Responsibilities

  • Users are responsible for ensuring that their mobile devices are secure and that WhatsApp is installed and functioning correctly.
  • Users must notify the Bank immediately if their mobile device is lost or stolen, or if there is any unauthorized use of their WhatsApp account.
  • Users must adhere to WhatsApp's terms of service and guidelines, which can be found at https://www.whatsapp.com/legal/terms-of-service/.

8. Limitation of Liability

  • The Bank is not responsible for any losses or damages resulting from the use of the WhatsApp Banking services.
  • The Bank does not guarantee the availability, accuracy, or timeliness of the Service and may suspend the Service for maintenance or other reasons without prior notice.

9. Privacy

  • The Bank respects your privacy and will handle your personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
  • By using the Service, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described in the Bank's Privacy Policy.

Termination

  • The Bank reserves the right to terminate or suspend the WhatsApp Banking services at any time without notice.
  • Users may opt-out of the Service by following the opt-out process prescribed by the Bank.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.

12. Amendments

The Bank reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Any changes will be communicated to users via WhatsApp or through the Bank’s website. Continued use of the Service after such amendments constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
